七年級的學生正處于青春期發育期,他們有較高的求知欲和表現欲,希望自己的表現能得到同學和老師的認可。且該階段學生已具備初步的語言表達能力和較強的記憶力與模擬能力。對他們所熟悉的話題學生的愛好會更濃,而本單元的話題正符合這一特點,所以我就設計任務型的課堂活動,讓學生人人參與,增強他們學習的積極性和學習的自信心。

第三板塊:說教法

新教材重視以人為本,強調素質教育。在教學中,要注意發揮學生的主體作用,把空間留給學生。抓住初中生活潑好動,表現欲強的心理特點,課堂上我設計了大量聽、說、讀、 的訓練,啟發學生動腦思考,鼓勵學生大膽開口,暢所欲言,盡可能運用英語表達實際意義,從而最大限度地調動學生的積極性和主動性。教學中,我主要采用任務型教學法,情景結合教學法,分層法和通過學習五步教學法,精講巧練,由淺入深,由易到難,由已知到未知,循序漸近地深化教學內容。展開以教師為主導,以學生為主體的師生雙邊活動。

一、農村初中起始年級教材整合的必要性

由于目前農村小學英語師資匱乏等原因,很多學校無法正常開足英語課時,導致多數小學畢業生的英語水平沒能達到《英語課程標準》規定的水平,初中新生的英語基礎差而且參差不齊,小學英語和初中英語教學相脫節,這給農村初中英語教學帶來了很大難度,主要表現在以下幾點:教材起點高、容量大,語言知識點多,詞匯量大,學生學習有困難。對教師而言,教材難以駕馭,因為教學內容量大,要求高,每單元的環節多,在開展教學活動時,常感到任務量太大,時間不夠,總是不能很好地完成教學目標。那么,如何解決這些問題呢?這就迫切需要教師對教材進行科學合理的整合,使教學內容更符合學生的實際,從而提高英語教學質量。

二、農村初中起始年級英語教材整合策略

1.適當補充,為學生搭建認知平臺。在新生入學之初,適當地補充小學內容,銜接小學課程是非常必要的。首先對初中起始年級和小學教材進行整合:(1)補充音標知識,過好語音關。在七年級學習26個字母的同時,一定要不遺余力地讓學生學好音標,培養學生的拼讀能力,使學生掌握讀音規則, 為學生記憶和積累詞匯奠定基礎。(2)鞏固小學必備的詞匯,有計劃地復習小學的詞匯。把新教材小學三年級到六年級所有詞匯列出來配合音標教學。同時教他們便于記憶、鞏固單詞的方法,過好單詞關。(3)整合小學的交際話題,溫故知新。由復習小學的話題,導入新授知識,循序漸進,完成教學目標。

2. 刪減內容,減輕學生負擔。在不影響教學目標的前提下,根據學生的實際,刪減教材中一些過于城市化、知識結構體系復雜、難度較大的內容,以便集中精力處理最重要的教學內容,實施最有效的教學活動,落實最重要的語言知識和技能。那么,哪些內容可以刪掉?(1)學生不熟悉的話題。(2)難度過高或過低的板塊。(3)在教學中難以實施的活動。比如,簡化Warming up、Prereading等教學環節;舍棄一些與學生生活相距較遠、專業性太強的內容或不常見的地理名詞等。如七年級上冊Module 9 A trip to the zoo 這模塊的生詞量相當大,總共43個生詞,其中很多個動物名稱、地理名詞的單詞很難記,那么我們可以刪除一些不常見的動物名稱和地理名稱,減輕學生負擔。

3.調整順序,循序漸進。初中英語教材中的每個模塊包含3個單元,U1以聽說為主,兼顧讀寫;U2以培養學生的閱讀能力為主,兼顧聽說;U3是語言運用單元,鞏固第一、二單元所學的內容。在教學實踐中,我們發現單元與單元之間有時缺乏有機的聯系,教材的編排有些是與我們的學生實際有距離的,教師要根據學生的實際情況,對各模塊內容適當調整順序或重組,按照循序漸進的原則,開展最有效的教學活動。比如語法課,教材的編排一般把語法練習放在每模塊的第三單元,如果本模塊的語法比較難掌握,我們可以把第三單元提到前面來學習,即語法前置課。學生對語法有了清晰的概念并會初步運用后,再開始前兩單元的學習。從基本語言到語言綜合運用,層層遞進,依次展開聽說讀寫訓練。

一、注重教師的口語示范

學生從小學升入初中有一個適應過程,英語學習更是如此,小學時由于學生的心理特點、認知能力以及英語不被重視等因素的限制,英語并沒有真正作為一門學科被重視。從筆者所教的七年級三個班學生的反饋情況來看,大部分學生小學階段并沒有真正學習英語,即使英語成績稍好一點的學生也不能完全區分元音和輔音等最基本的語音知識,更不用說識別英語音標了,其他同學更是對英語提不起興趣。因此,初中學習英語之初,教師的示范作用很重要。如果教師的示范作用起到了積極的效應,那么學生就會產生好奇,從而引起學生學習英語的興趣。同時,教師在示范時要善于提煉與總結,盡量多用學過的英語會話與學生交談,鼓勵學生開口講英語,無論教師與學生之間,還是學生與學生之間,都要養成自覺說英語的習慣。另外,教師應堅持用學生能聽懂并且易于接受的英語指令或短句組織課堂教學,使學生耳濡目染,在不知不覺中學到英語知識。在這個教學過程中,教師可在示范英語的基礎上充分利用錄音機,給學生放原版錄音,讓學生多聽多模仿,聽單詞的讀音、完整的句段和它的抑揚頓挫,從而學到地道的英語。聽是說的基礎,說是聽的提高。學生要在反復聽懂和模仿正確的語音語調的基礎上說,才能說得正確流利,從而更好地促進聽力的提高。因此,教師應在日常教學中重視聽說能力的培養。

三、反復練習目標語,同時注意形式變換

七年級英語教材每一個單元都有一個不同的話題,然后單元學習圍繞著中心話題展開,或以對話形式,或以討論形式或短文形式。第一課時通常以對話形式引出本單元的目標語,因此,第一課時的教學目標就是通過反復對話練習,讓學生掌握本單元目標語,同時練習不同人稱的形式變換。英語教學中的聽說訓練在這一課時得到了充分的體現,一堂成功的七年級英語課并不是看學生背會了多少個單詞,而是看學生是否掌握了目標語,并進行了充分的練習。如果每個學生在課堂上都將目標語練習了十幾遍甚至幾十遍以上,那足以證明這堂課的教學產出高效。本校有一位主抓教學工作的校長,她也曾是一位在一線工作了三十多年的英語教師,在筆者教學之初她曾這樣說過:“不要以成人的想法去考慮學生的英語學習,在我們看來很簡單的知識對學生來說都有一個接受過程,所以不要過于追求難,不要貪多,而要多練習,多強調,多反復,每堂課都要盡量讓每個學生練習目標語十幾遍……”。類似的教學方法使筆者在接下來的教學工作中如魚得水,學生都樂此不疲。

四、科學引導學生說英語

由于剛升入初中,學生的基礎參差不齊,特別是大多數學生在說英語時有膽怯、害羞等心理表現,所以,教師在引導學生說英語時一定要科學,講究方式方法。首先要鼓勵學生敢于開口說英語。教師要盡可能創造機會讓每一個學生在同學面前展示,比如每天的早讀讓不同的學生來領讀,包括課前的領讀等,不要只將此任務交給課代表;同時課堂上讓學生兩人一組、四人一組開展對話或進行討論。等到學生們有了鞏固的基礎后,再設計一些展示的活動去提高他們的表達能力,比如每天英語課前讓一位同學做“morning report”,內容可以是一個小故事,一個名言警句,也可以敘述自己有趣的經歷,或是其他想和同學們分享的內容。通過這些一系列的活動,開闊了學生的視野,提高了學生的會話能力,也鞏固了所學知識,對記憶單詞也起到了促進作用,使學生們由“要我學”轉變成“我要學”,從而真正實現英語的“樂學”目標。其次要“感謝”學生所犯的錯誤。一些教師一旦聽到學生錯誤的回答馬上就按捺不住,不等學生把話說完,就指出學生所犯的錯誤,這種做法會傷害學生的自尊心并且使學生失去學習英語的興趣,無益于英語教學的開展。在這個問題的處理方法上,筆者一位同事的做法非常好,在她的課堂上,學生積極參與的熱情非常高漲,在同學答對問題時,所有的同學都會報以熱烈的掌聲去鼓勵;而當有的同學答錯問題時,掌聲往往更熱烈,因為大家都在“感謝”這位同學把多數同學會犯的錯誤勇敢地展示出來,這時教師會詢問其他犯同樣錯誤的同學做題的思路,然后從學生的理解角度去解析問題所在,這樣學生會更加記憶深刻,同時也掌握了這一類題的解題技巧。在這一過程中,教師要注意對于學生所犯的錯誤不要動輒批評,而要堅持循循善誘的教學方法,消除學生的思想壓力,使學生不怕犯錯誤,樂于說英語、樂于學英語。

五、注重課前導入和課后總結

一節課剛剛開始的時候,學生還沒有完全進入本科目的學習狀態,這時有效的課前導入就顯得尤為重要。教師不妨從學生們感興趣的話題說起,在此過程中將以往所學知識有機地融合進來,使學生們主動地參與到話題中來,然后自然地引入到新知識的教學。在聽說實踐的過程中,要處理好新舊知識之間的聯系,初中學生的一個顯著特點是遺忘快,前說后忘,必須反復練習才能鞏固。同時,教師講解新知識時,也要注意復習鞏固舊知識,用這樣的方法進行教學會極大地提高教學質量。不但如此,每節課結束前,教師應該至少留出兩分鐘的時間去帶領學生們總結本節課的知識重點,給學生們一個整體的知識回顧,加強對本節課知識的消化吸收。

1.1 教師不重視

首先,因為在教材編寫的過程中,有關音標教學的內容所占比重不大,而且在階段性的測試中,語音部分分值低,導致教師對此部分重視不夠。再加上語音教學耗費的時間較長,收到的效益不明顯,所以教師不愿意將時間花費在這方面。

其次,農村教學條件相對較差。大部分英語教研小組形同虛設,不能形成有效的學習和研討,導致教學手段單一。因此,有些教師干脆就用純中文或者是英文加上中文進行英語教學,嚴重影響學生學習英語的興趣。

1.2 學生沒熱情

根據大多數英語教師的教學經驗,孩子們失去英語學習興趣就是從不會拼讀單詞開始的。因為他們不懂得音標,所以在學習過程中只能通過教師的讀音,自己用漢語牽強附會地標注英語的發音,以至于在拼讀時走音、變音,讓人聽起來莫名其妙。此外,這種發音錯誤非常不利于學生掌握單詞音與形的聯系,更會使他們將來的學習步入誤區。

想要給學生一滴水,自己就要有一桶水。如果教師自己連音標都讀不對,讀不準,那么學生所模仿出來的結果就可想而知了。所以,教師首先要積極提高自身發音水平。比如說,在教學組內進行研討,對一些發不出,易錯的音進行總結,互相修正。當然,如果教師實在是發音不準確,也可以利用教學工具,如收音機和音頻視頻設備等讓學生模仿,操練。

2.2 整合教材,進行專項訓練

雖然一些小學教師在小學階段的英語教學中加入了音標的學習,但由于小學生身心發展規律的限制,教學效果往往不盡人意。而初中階段,無論從課程設置還是學生身心發展的規律來看,都無疑是學習音標的最佳時機。

在教材的編制上,牛津英語教材7A前半部分對小學階段的內容進行了簡單的概括,這一部分對于大多數學生來說比較簡單。如果教師能夠對該部分進行簡化處理,就可以抽出一部分的時間來進行專項的音標教學。

2.3 多角度出擊,激發學生興趣

英語音標學習是一件相對艱難的事情,但是,如果能夠全面激發學生學習音標的興趣,讓學生主動學習,這件事情也會變得容易起來。

①利用漢語拼音進行比較教學

在音標中,因為[d][k][g][r][s][z][f][l][m][n]等與漢語拼音的形狀和發音基本相同或相似,所以學生學起來就很輕松,從而對音標學習充滿信心。因此,我們完全可以利用這個現象,將音標和漢語拼音進行比較學習,來促發學生學音標的興趣。

②利用游戲進行娛樂教學

游戲在不同的年齡階段都有著獨特的魅力,教師如果能在音標教學中設計出不同的游戲來激發學生的興趣,則會取得意想不到的效果。如:猜音標。全班分成若干組,教師給學生們出示若干個音標卡片,讓學生們認讀后教師任意抽出其中一張放在背后,依次讓各組學生猜,猜對的組得一分,然后教師再出示另一張繼續讓學生們猜,最后看哪一組得分多,再給予相應的獎勵。

③利用小組研討進行合作教學
